Box Clever Take on Bullying in Schools

5.27.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sun 28th Sep 2008

A dramatic performance by contemporary theatre company Box Clever at Wandle Valley School on Thursday afternoon, drew praise from Tom Brake MP for Carshalton and Wallington.

Box Clever, with funding from the Arts Council, are working with ten of Sutton's schools to tackle bullying head-on in schools through theatre.

Tom Brake said, "In a performance packed with energy, Box Clever spelt out in black and white bullying's devastating consequences. No one who has seen their play will be in any doubt what bullying looks like and what can be done to stamp it out."

Box Clever have worked closely with both students and teachers from Wandle Valley School to localise their production. This will be rolled out to nine other schools shortly.
