Common Sense May Prevail on Heritage Lampposts

1.40.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 20th Oct 2008

Commenting on reports that a compromise has been reached on the future of Carshalton's heritage lampposts, Tom Brake said, "I haven't cracked open the champagne, but the signs are that common sense may prevail and TfL have initially stated they were going to scrap the lights have finally agreed to upgrade them instead. This is a great outcome for Carshalton Village and its residents."
