5 Questions for David Cameron

12.00.00am GMT Tue 28th Oct 2008

As David Cameron visits Sutton and Cheam, local Liberal Democrat MP Paul Burstow challenges him to answer the following five questions:

1. How does he justify policies that include tax cuts for millionaires and not local families?

2. Does he support donations from Russian oligarchs or Belizean billionaires - one of whom helps to fund the Conservatives?

3. How does he propose helping with local children's education if he will not pledge extra funds for those from disadvantaged backgrounds?

4. What will he do to help our pensioners, children and unemployed after the mess his party made whilst is Government by breaking the link between pensions and earnings, devaluing child benefit for second children and freezing Jobseekers Allowance?

5. Why are the Conservatives identified by Friends of the Earth as the dirtiest political party in Europe?

Paul Burstow added:

"Cameron claims he wants to talk 'direct' to people, but in reality he is totally out of touch with the real problems that local residents are facing.

"Every day I hear from constituents about the financial difficulties they are experiencing, especially in recent months. But all Cameron's Conservatives want to do is give tax rebates to the rich.

"Only the Liberal Democrats have fully costed plans which will cut taxes for those families most in need. All the Tories have are empty promise."
