Tom Brake MP Form V and Form VI's Guest at Seaton House

10.04.31am GMT Tue 28th Oct 2008

No question was out of bounds for pupils at Seaton House on Thursday when Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington visited them for a 'Question and Answer' session.

Tom's visit coincided with the school's 'wear it pink' day, raising funds for, and awareness of, the Breast Cancer Campaign, so he had to dress the part.

Tom agreed to the 'Question and Answer' session at the school's request after he took up some of the pupils' concerns with the local Council.

In a very lively quick-fire session he fielded queries about MP's salaries (always a matter of great interest to young and old alike), how long MPs have to work each day, what they do, what qualifications you need to be an MP etc.

Tom said afterwards, "Being quizzed by Seaton House pupils was a breath of fresh air. Their questions were straight-forward, well informed and to the point. I hope my replies were as well."
