Brown and Cameron Urged to Sign-up

8.21.54pm GMT Sun 23rd Nov 2008

Maggie Hughes, the mother of Robbie Hughes who was badly assaulted in Crete, and Tom Brake MP are penning a joint letter to Gordon Brown and David Cameron asking them to encourage their MPs to back the parliamentary motion in support of Robbie Hughes.

Tom Brake said, "The campaign to bring Robbie Hughes' attackers to justice needs support from as many MPs as possible. We are hoping that if both party leaders throw their weight behind the campaign, we might push the number of signatures beyond the 300 mark. This would be a huge boost to the campaign."

The Early Day Motion currently has 47 MPs signatures. There are 646 MPs in Parliament.
