Brake Comes Face-to-Face with Dinosaur at Jancett Day Nurseries in Wallington

2.16.27pm GMT Sun 7th Dec 2008

Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington was on a fact-finding mission to Jancett Day Nurseries in Wallington on Monday morning to learn about apprenticeships in the childcare industry when he was confronted by a dinosaur.

He explained, "It is rumoured that dinosaurs were made extinct tens of millions of years ago following a meteorite strike. That is clearly wrong. Dinosaurs are thriving in our suburbs and I have the photographic evidence to prove it."

Tom escaped unharmed following his encounter of a toothy kind and was able to spend time with many of the babies, children and the childcare workers at Startel and Gaytime Nurseries, helping pass round the healthy break-time snack and attending the medals' presentation for budding footballers (male and female) at the nursery. He was also briefed on the training provided by Jancett and discussed the implications of any slowdown in the economy.
