Not Too Late to Vote for Our Local Park

4.39.03pm GMT Wed 28th Jan 2009

Wandle Valley and St Helier Open Space is going head to head with 46 parks across the capital for a grant of £400,000. Ten parks out of the 46 will be selected by public vote and receive a cash boost not only to make the parks look more attractive but also to improve security.

Tom Brake stated that, 'This is a great opportunity for residents to help give their local open space a radical make over. We need the whole community to come together and help us win.'

The closing date for voting is 30th January 2009 so everyone needs to vote as soon as possible.

The website for voting is www.london.gov.uk/parksvote. However for those on Facebook there is also a 'Vote for Wandle Valley' group to help gather even more support.
